EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS

As a part of extra-curricular activities, children are regularly taken for educational excursions and field trips to supplement their theoretical knowledge with actual practical experience. Since the children come from extremely poor families, such excursions are virtually inconceivable in their lives as their parents are either unable to finance the trip or even find time from their daily wage-earning routines. Also, many children have uneducated parents who are unable to guide them on their holistic development activities.

It is our experience that these ‘infotainment’ trips boost the perception of children about the world they live in and factors in the fields of science, art, culture and innovation. Selected according to age group and stream of study, the most favoured destinations for children are the National Science Centre, the National Museum, the National Zoological Park, the Railway Museum, the National Museum for Natural History, the Nehru
Planetarium etc. The children love to witness and experience first-hand – artifacts, experiments, technology at work, historically significant events etc.
